RAISING ADOPTED CHILDREN is a parents' guide to rearing children in an adoptive family. It covers circumstances important to all adoptive parents.

Drawing from child development, psychology, sociology, medicine, and also the experiences of adoptive parents, it examines the child's physical, emotional and psychological development at every age. In addition, there are chapters on special topics such as the multiracial family, serious behavior problems and single parent adoption.

Topics covered include:

* How will my child "bond" or form attachments to me?

* When and how should I tell my child that he was adopted?

* What should schools be told about my child?

* Will adoption make adolescent upheavals more complicated?

This book should be on the reference shelf of every
adoptive family.

(Paperback, 373 pages, 1998)
